Getting suspicious e-mails?

A few tips on how to be cautious..
Be very cautious of any suspicious e-mails, even if the e-mail appears to be from someone you know.
Share the following tips with staff:
- Never open an unsolicited email attachment. Verify that you know the email sender, and that you are expecting the attachment.
- Never click on a link within an email unless you are 100% sure it’s safe.
- Make sure your operating system is up-to-date with the latest security, If prompted to install updates for Windows, Anti-Virus, Adobe Reader, please do so.
- Install the latest versions of your internet browsers.
- Get reputable anti-virus software. For example a fully licensed version of ESET and ensure you update it frequently.
- Act quickly. If you do accidentally download a malicious attachment, bear in mind it is likely to take some time for the encryption to take place. If you immediately contact us and run an anti-virus program, it could destroy the CryptoLocker before all your files have been encrypted – however, you will permanently lose affected files.
- Take care when clicking on adverts; never open X links and attachments from people you don't know or trust.
Following these tips could save the loss of vital company data, employee time and a lot of unwanted stress and heartache.
