The term ‘cloud computing' is like gold to marketeers. Years ago, when drawing network diagrams, the internet was commonly depicted as a cloud. Businesses would use this ‘cloud’ for connecting sites together and for remote access. They were the pioneers of cloud computing and they didn’t know it.
Then more affordable and reliable communications became available. A host of ISP’s began to offer services that they provided in a data centre and a user would access them through the ‘cloud’. This gained momentum and cloud computing was born.
It now seems that everyone wants cloud computing to do something for them and their business, but the question is what? Again, this is an area where we can help and recommend solutions that are proven and trustworthy and, most importantly, GDPR compliant.
